Group Classes
Group classes are a great way to learn and bond with your dog. We believe training should be fun and focused! Get ready to laugh and meet other dog-lovers in the community while soaking up tons of essential information about working and playing with your dog.
When you join a group class at AGDT, you join a community of dog lovers who love to play and bond with their dog while solving and preventing behavior problems. We love to play games, have fun, and learn geeky things about dog behavior!!
You can choose from indoor and outdoor classes in several locations, and you can book directly below. Classes often sell out. Be sure to book in advance! If you’re unsure about anything at all, our admin team is available to help out.

Puppy Kindergarten
The essential class for all puppies aged 10 weeks to 4.5 months!
Puppy Kindergarten is the place to learn everything you need to know to lay a solid foundation for a healthy, happy pup! We cover all of the basics (house training, puppy nipping, socialization, core cues, and dealing with behaviors problems). In addition, it’s an awesome support network of local puppy people, and a riot of laughs to hang out with a little gaggle of wagging puppies!
Adolescent Dog Training
The perfect foundation class for dogs aged 5+ months!
Adolescent dog training is a foundation-level class that teaches core cues (sit, down, touch, go to your mat, come, etc), educates both you and your dog about how to meet each other’s needs, and solves many common behavior problems (leash pulling, jumping up, stealing objects, eating from the ground on walks, and more).
Next-Level Classes!
After you’ve laid a strong foundation with your dog, you might wonder, “What’s next? How can I continue this journey and make more progress with my dog?” The courses below are the answer! Please note that each of these classes has a prerequisite, so please read instructions carefully before enrollment.
Outdoor Group Classes In Central Park
Now available for booking. Spring 2024! In order to get more dogs and humans the help they need we moved some of AGDT’S famous group classes outdoors into the park. Enjoy the spring, summer and fall months learning with your dog in the sunshine! You can still choose to enroll in indoor classes if you prefer.
Awesome Workshops!!!
Does your dog have a specific issue that you want to work on? Our mini workshops help you hone in on solving specific problem behaviors. These courses are designed to focus on some of the most common issues that humans have with their dogs. These courses are excellent for helping you and your dog learn how to achieve behaviors you desire while being in a group setting, mimicking real life scenarios; class sizes are small enough that you will still get individual attention from our top notch trainers. Each of these workshops take place at West 85th Street.

Complete Online Courses:
Online courses are ideal for people who need the flexibility to take a class on their own schedule. Each course includes lectures, demonstrations, and easy to follow worksheets so that you can make awesome progress with your dog. The coolest thing about online courses is the ability to watch the lecture or demonstration as many times as you like! Online courses are available for Puppy Kindergarten, Adolescent Dog Training, and many single topics, such as House Training and Problem Barking.
